Messaging
Proper messaging about BitPay as a payment method must be displayed and made available for a customer to see prior to them completing payment. Messaging should include information about how to use BitPay, what cryptocurrencies are accepted, your refund policy, and other helpful information about what customers can expect. This information must be provided in one or more of the following areas on the website.
Checkout/Payment Page
Include key information during payment selection at checkout.
High level information can be bolded in order to stand out, broken out as bullets to ensure the information is clear and link to another page for more information.
Providing a “Note”, also ensures that the customer is aware of the process and other important information, such as your refund policy for customers choosing to use BitPay at checkout.
Landing Page
Include information on BitPay with key messaging on a dedicated landing page.
Since some customers may have never used BitPay, dedicating a landing page for them to visit in order to better understand the process can be very beneficial. This will also ensure that you can fit all the the details that a first timer user will be curious about without making an existing page look cluttered.
Payment Options Page
List BitPay and available cryptocurrencies on your payment options page.
A payment options page is beneficial for providing details on all the available payment options. Information regarding how to use BitPay, what cryptocurrencies are accepted, and other helpful information about what customers can expect can be broken out as bullets, in a Q&A format or shown with graphics.
Help/FAQ Page
Include information on BitPay and cryptocurrency within your Help/FAQ section.
Utilizing an FAQs page to help customers learn more about purchasing with crypto can be very beneficial. Having all the details around how to use BitPay, as well as key terms and conditions, such as the time to buy, refund policy, and coins accepted can be properly organized and can be easily found through this dedicated resource.
